The Session

The Session is the governing body of any Presbyterian USA church. It is composed of the pastor of the church and elected "ruling" elders. The pastor generally serves as the "moderator" — or the head — of the Session. The Session has many duties, including receiving new members, managing finances, leading the congregation in the church's missions and managing the property of the church.

The Rev. Timothy Tate

Our pastor began his journey and service to BMPC in December 2012 while he was completing his seminary education at Union Presbyterian Seminary.

Tim works in a tent maker capacity here at BMPC. By day Tim is a manager at a Fortune 50 logistic company.

He is married to his high school sweetheart Denna. Together they have two boys, Brandon and Christian, and a granddaughter Zoey.

Tim is a true man of God whose passion and zeal for the gospel is contagious. Tim believes that the gospel is embodied in the community in which the church serves. He exemplifies this by volunteering time to local nonprofits. Between family, church and work, Tim says he still finds time to participate in his favorite hobbies of hunting, fishing, and cooking.

Our bell

For decades this bell called the faithful to worship at Black's Memorial. It is located next to our parking lot and still rings!
